  1. The Duckworth Lewis Method is the cricket-themed side project of The Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon and Pugwash’s Thomas Walsh. Sticky Wickets is the follow-up to their Ivor Novello nominated eponymous debut. The album consists of 12 beautifully eccentric, catchy songs on the always fascinating subject of cricket/5(61).
  2. Jul 01,  · As the original Duckworth Lewis method is a means of deciding the winner of a cricket match that in reality has been won by the weather, it is appropriate that some musicians have chosen it as their group name to gently poke fun at cricket. This is their second such album although the first I've heard. The outstanding track here is It's just not cricket, with the added benefit of a few spoken /5(61).

  5. The Duckworth Lewis Method was a collaboration between the Divine Comedy honcho Neil Hannon and Thomas Walsh of Pugwash where the duo combined their love of the rarely seen bedfellows of cricket and melodic soft rock. Sticky Wickets was their second album of sweetly tuneful cricket-themed musings all of which are better than Howzat by Sherbert.8/10(1).
  6. Jul 26,  · The trick of the first album by The Duckwork Lewis Method, also known as The Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon and Pugwash’s Thomas Walsh, was to get people over the notion that this was going to be a pop album devoted to the subject of the sport of cricket.
  7. The answer is probably yes, yet such is the infectious jollity, wit and inventiveness of much of Sticky Wickets, it’s hard to be too churlish. The Duckworth Lewis Method is essentially exactly the same as before; mostly upbeat knees ups, heavily influenced by music hall and ’70s soft rock and as stuffed full of cricketing trivia as the Wisden Almanac.
  8. Released on 1st July , "Sticky Wickets" is the follow up to 's self-titled debut. Available on cd, vinyl and digital download, the album features the vocal talents of Henry Blofeld, David 'Bumble' Lloyd, Daniel Radcliffe, Stephen Fry and Matt Berry. "Sticky Wickets" was mastered at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.
